Valentine’s Day Make Up Look

Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and because it falls on a Friday this year I see no reason as to why you wouldn’t want to do something a little special – whether it’s with a lover or good friends. Why not!?

This year I actually have a very exciting wkd away coming up, however, it’s not really for Valentine’s Day, just more to get out of Cape Town and do something different. We are off to Abalone House in Paternoster. We literally have a wkd of way too much food and wine coming up with a booking at Kitima in Hout Bay, Gaaitjie in Paternoster, Reuben’s in Paternoster and spa treatments! I will let you know about everything 🙂

For a Valentine’s make up look I think it is suitable to keep your make up minimal, sultry with a bit of glitz to dress it up. My advice would be no bold lips or scary looking eyes – this does not bode well with first dates. Keep it natural and pretty, while making the eyes a bit more dramatic. Nails wise I have booked for a Shellac in Black Pool as I think black looks good all year around!

Below are some products I will be using to achieve this look.

1 – Stila Sweet Treat Bronzer – R175 – here

2 – Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara R310 – here

3 – Dior Lip Glow

4 – Smashbox Brow Tech R215 – here

5 – Clarins 3 Point Liquid Eye Liner – Woolworths and Edgars

6 – Revlon Just Bitten Matte lip crayon R120 – here

Fragrance wise, I love something like this from Elizabeth Arden. It’s called Untold and it really has surprised me at how well it wears on the skin – it’s subtle and so pretty. Nothing too floral or sickly sweet. (R414 – online here)

Happy Valentine’s Day girls!

On a side note for the boys – today is your last day to order luxury flowers of Woolworths Online Florist. These are exclusively online and NOT flowers you can get in store – think massive rose heads, thick and long stems that last ages. They really are luxury flowers at their best as well as at the best prices! Limited stock.

Do you guys go to Paternoster often? I was there in October last year and thought I saw you at a restaurant but was too shy to say something… 🙂

Anyway, back to the topic: I agree, it's best to go natural with your makeup on a first date. That Dior Lip Glow looks beautiful!

Good thing I didn't go up to the person then….epic fail – haha! 😉

It's absolutely stunning!! The beach is so beautiful, I can't even describe it…and without sounding like a weirdo, when you're there, you feel calm and happy. 🙂

Ahhh that sounds like heaven (and just what I need). That would have been hilarious if you did go up to that person 🙂 Haha x
