VINTAGE WITH LOVE: A CHARITY WORTH SUPPORTING

I so often think that supporting a charity is something most people want to do (I hope) but 1) it can be intimidating with all the amazing charities out there and 2) we often wonder how we can be of any help (without having millions to donate).

I wanted to explain Vintage With Love to all of you, as it is SUCH an easy charity to get involved in, and there are various ways to do so – with all the proceeds going to education in South Africa – one of the best things we can support for the future of our country. In short; Vintage With Love is a drive to collect gently worn pieces of clothing – anything and everything (or brand new, whatever you have lying around the house that you feel could be bought by someone else, and given a bit more love). The charity then sort all the clothing thoroughly and host an incredible clothing sale in June, where all the proceeds go to education charities (see full details of charities and what each of them are about here). The charity has been running for 6 years and they do everything incredibly well – resulting in a really amazing amount of money being raised!

THERE ARE TWO WAYS YOU CAN GET INVOLVED:

1) You can, like me, do a proper Marie Kondo-style spring clean of some really beautiful pieces that you just don’t get enough wear out of, and donate these to the sale. The best part if that the charity is partnered with Aramex, so they will come and collect the clothes from your home. Really no excuses! You can also do drop-offs, see below for locations. 2) You can support the sale, and indulge in a bit of shopping. I have seen some of the items (and you guys have seen what I’m donating) – this is not any car boot type clothing sale, there are some incredible pieces; from Hermes scarves and Louis Vuitton handbags to Country Road dresses and beautiful chunky knits. All great condition (they won’t sell anything too tatty – it’s only the great pieces!). See details on the sale below:
