Toni & Guy Sea Salt Texturising Spray vs Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray

I am so excited about the arrival of Toni & Guy products in South Africa. During my time of living abroad I really fell in love with this brand; it’s affordable, quality hair styling products which I think are pretty hard to come by. A firm favourite for me is the Sea Salt Texturising Spray which I had heard such glowing reviews about. I know you are all going to love this one, especially with summer around the corner – yay!

In a nutshell, this is that product you go for to get that look as if you haven’t touched a styling product, instead spent weeks on end on some tropical island and got that perfectly tousled beach hair – my best summer look (hence the salt ingredient in here). My hair dries pretty straight naturally, with an ever-so-slight wave to it – something that I always try and keep as I am not a fan of long limp hair.

Now I have tried the famous Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray for a few years which has been great, but not worth it’s price tag in my opinion when there is Toni & Guy’s Sea Salt Spray which gives you the exact same results (in a much larger bottle).

The spray has a lovely summery fresh aroma to it and the spray is a lot less ‘salty’ than the Bumble & Bumble one which I prefer – I sometimes felt like the latter was drying my hair out a bit. Directions wise it is super easy to use and perfect for those days when you want to wear your air down but don’t have time to style it or don’t want that awfully drab dead-straight hair. I always find to get more volume with these spays you need to spray them on towel dried hair and scrunch the tips of your hair with your fingers. Then add more product to the hair once it has dried.

My only recommendation would be to be sure to use your weekly hair mask whilst using this product as, natural, salt can be a bit drying. The product really does do as promised – adds great volume and texture to dull limp hair. This is definitely going to be my go-to summer hair product – so glad I have found a replica to Bumble & Bumble (and it’s a whole lot more affordable and available in South Africa)!

I had this in my hand on Saturday, but decided against it! Now that I've read your review, I think I might try it out, just worried about the build up.

Ya I'm unsure about that. Maybe a cleansing shampoo would help with that. Get it though, I cannot wait to use it through-out summer 🙂

I got a bottle of driftwood's salt spray.

I went for it because they only use 100% natural ingredients and its a fair price for the size (300ml I think).

It is absolutely brilliant. I really can't fault it. An all-round great buy!

I've been looking for bottles on the high street but can only seem to find it on Ebay at the moment – Boots get involved!!!

Worth taking a look if you're looking for a salt spray.
