Tom Ford Open Counter at Edgars V&A, Cape Town

Getting a save the date from Tom Ford is always exciting, and this time it was no different. The even was for the opening of the Tom Ford counter at the Edgars, V&A. The counter is right next to the Bobbi Brown counter and focuses on fragrance and lipsticks.

I am a die-hard Tom Ford fan so I needed no convincing! I, unfortunately, had to leave early due to work commitments, but I was able to try out a lip colour of my choice which felt lovely. They retail at R495 which is really pricey for a lip colour but Tom Ford is no cheapie brand and you really are paying for luxury – in my mind I can justify it (sorry I’m not sorry) but I’ll leave that up to you to decide. I know my friend bought one of their lip colour for her wedding day and I think it is such a  lovely treat like that. Below are some of the colours available.

I spritzed the brand-new Sahara Noir scent on me (don’t you just love the gold bottle?) – the scent was spicy and so unique, which is why I just love this brand.

Below are a few bottles from my collection at home that I love and save for special occasions. The Black Orchid is my go-to scent for any vaguely special occasion – definitely my wedding scent one day (pathetic that I’ve decided that already!). I also left with a treat from Tom Ford which was another Black Orchid – never has there been a better prezzie, so thank you!

Be sure to pop past the counter – even if it’s just for a sniff of their beautiful scents and a application of their lip colour – I know by this alone you will be sold!

So glad to see you posted about this. I'm sooooo happy that we have a counter in Cape Town now, that has all the fragrances. I can't wait to get my hands on Champaca Absolute – it's gorgeous! (but I have to save up for it)

I've recently discovered the beauty that is Black Orchid and Noir de Noir! (and purchased both), but I see there is a purple one – Velvet Orchid. What do you think of that? Have you tried it? I doubt it's better than Black Orchid 🙂

Ah is it not just THE best scent!? I haven't tried or smelt Velvet Orchid. Will give it a sniff when I pop in to Edgars but nothing beats Black Orchid in my mind 🙂
