My winter essentials
This is my favourite time of year, but it most definitely takes its toll on my skin. Even the teensiest bit of negligence in winter and my skin reacts badly!
These are my top four products that have been seeing me through this season, and I simply cannot get enough of them!
Bio Oil
This product needs no introduction as I know it is a firm favourite in many South African households. I only started using this recently when I received the most beautiful media pack with a grey pashmina (love!) and some Bio Oil. I haven’t looked back since J
I have mentioned before how my favourite body cream is aqueous cream, so my Bio Oil has been added to that which makes it that much more nourishing and does wonders for my skin. I have also been using this on my face as a treatment oil – little wonder product right here!
Ghd Heat Protect Spray
I would wear this as perfume if I could – yip that’s how good it smells. I owned the old version of this product which was very average, but this one has blown me away – smells great and leaves my hair looking shiny, healthy and, of course, protected.
Now my next mission is to save up and treat myself to the all-new ghd Air hairdryer. This dryer dries hair faster yet leaves it looking sleek and styled – what’s not to love?
Woolworths Powder Blush – Peach Melba
I am obsessed with this blush. It looks great on all skin types and creates that perfect pink flush on the cheeks. Whether I am wearing evening make up or tinted moisturiser, this colour looks good, it goes on well and lasts the whole day.
This is one of those products that I am so extremely happy I found, I know I will be buying it in years to come (to heat more watch my video here)
QMS 24 Hour Moisturiser
The entire range has been seeing my skin through the winter months, but this moisturiser in particular has been awesome. It sinks in instantly and leaves my skin glowing and hydrated. I wake up with plumped out lines and a dewy complexion. Adding to this, I obviously use my QMS Night Collagen which works its magic, being sealed in with my 24 Hour Moisturiser.

For a more mature skin.. (51) try the Moisturising Balance – a treat all on it's own xx I use it every night in winter.

Hi Victoria. Would like to ask, have seen a lot of debating about the petroleum in Bio Oil… what's your take? If it's not harmful its fine, right? thanks
Hi Liezel, my opinion is that it doesn't absorb THAT deeply into the skin (some ppl take superficial products a little too seriously I think) – it does the perfect job in hydrating my skin and improving stretch marks and scarring so I am all for Bio Oil, plus it isn't going to kill me (nor even harm me). Hope that helps? Any other thoughts?
