Skinny Legs & All

Thanks toIwantthat’slovely post on Cape Town’s newest arrival – Skinny Legs & All – I, as usual, wasted no time in getting there and trying it out.

Is there anything better than enjoying a delicious cuppa at a new spot? For me, the answer is no.

Twin’s Jesse and Jaime are the owners and seem to be doing an amazing job so far, especially because they are only five weeks into it and simply decided to open their doors, sans-marketing.  I think their food says it all, and is enough to entice me back there any day! They call Skinny Legs & All a luxury cafe and it really is just that – quirky yet so homely. They base their food on simplicity – using real food that is unadulterated and unadorned – a true home-cooked meal.

I love how they say they have stocked their pantry like it is their own and made every condiment and spread from scratch! I had the Lumberjack open sandwich on sourdough and it was to-die-for. My portion was deceivingly filling, and I left feeling very satisfied. I had their home-made herb mayo on my sandwich which was delicious. Ben had the salmon open sandwich which he loved just as much. The home-made soup looked and smelt amazing too – I will be trying this next time!

Their amazing soup I am after next, loved this bowl

The cappuccino to finish off was the cherry on the top served with a gorgeous heart shaped cookie that I ate before I could think of a photo – sorry!
