Paris Fashion Week {Hair & Make Up}
I follow fashion weeks religiously and am holding thumbs tight that I will be going to the Paris show later this year. It’s a dream. Other than all the incredible shows and the make up and the hair – it just seems like there is such a buzz in the air. The street style pics are my favourite too. Honestly, those poeple look like they have been planning their outfits for weeks. Best I revemp this wardrobe before I head over!!!
My favourite looks for Paris Fashion week ’12 were definitely a combination of two different trends. The first being romantic, soft and floral and the second being dramatic, bold and striking (see M.A.C’s event I went to were I spoke of these trends).
I felt that the Chloe and Chanel shows got the romantic, soft look spot-on. This is a look I often tend to go for myself so really appealed to me. It’s all about hydrated, plump and radiant skin with soft pinks and peaches. I achieve this by treating my skin before a night out with a thorough exfoliation while showering and when I am picking out my outfit I slap on a hydrating and soothing mask – this way you are guaranteed that radiant complexion. I follow with a light application of tinted moisturiser, a slick of mascara and my By Terry Baume de Rose lip balm which hydrates and creates that soft pink touch.
If we talking a more formal occasion, I absolutely loved the Yves Saint Laurent and Jean Paul Gaultier show. Both looks were stroking yet classic. I have always been a fan of bold lips, it often makes an outfit and adds a bit of elegance. Both looks kept the eyes semi neutral which I like, bold lips and strong eyes is always too much for me! For this look I would concentrate on curling my lashes and layering my mascara for a simple yet striking eye, and use a slightly matte lip colour of choice – the bolder, the better 🙂
These are other shows that I also think were great, have left off the few I didn’t like. Lanvin and Loewe were also beautiful.
Maybe one day I can actually be using my own images in these posts 🙂
What are your thoughts?

Good choices! I like that these are actually wearable in real life, not just runway looks.
Thanks for the update, Tori!

Thanks Livloo – very kind of you. Have to agree with you on those two – beautiful!
Loving the natural look, would be great to maybe do a post on where we can find the make up to recreate those looks… any ideas?

Hi There – that is a great idea. Am happy to do a post like that with my products I use at home… Coming soon 🙂
Thank YOU Natalie 🙂
I love the soft clean Chanel look! But the Jean Paul Gaultier is great for mixing things up or for a more formal look. Love the post, a really great read!
Chanel gets my vote – simple, romantic and subtly sophisticated. Love it! Do me a favour: when you're packing for Paris, will you leave a spot for me in your luggage? 😉
Can't wait to see YOUR Paris photos next!
