Winter shopping at Edgars
Over the weekend I popped into my local Edgars store, which is at the V&A Waterfront, as I needed to top up my winter wardrobe. I am such a winter baby, as much as I love summer, winter fashion is unbeatable with all the layers and beautiful textures, it’s so much more glamorous and an excuse to dress up a bit more.
As some of you may know, Edgars have introduced a few exciting international brands of late (and have loads more up their sleeves). Some being fashion and others beauty brands. Below are a few of the many fashion brands that I can’t get enough of:
- River Island (coming in July to Edgars Sandton)
- Dune Footwear (their boots – ahhhh!)
- Lucky Brand (I wrote about them here, but these jeans are something else!)
- Lipsy– for the perfect dress for a cocktail eve/wedding or special occasion
- Dr. Martens – not sure I could pull these off but love this brand and how ‘London’ they are!
I had made up my mind that I needed to get myself a darker, more wintery pair of jeans as well as a winter jacket that could be worn more casually and managed to find the following items which I am so chuffed with. The jeans are from Lucky Brand, as I say, I already own a pair from here that fit me so well and are so incredibly comfortable with discreet branding (just what I like). I picked up this dark skinny pair for R999. The jacket is from Free2BU which is an in-house Edgars brand which had a great selection on offer. This jacket pretty much ticked all the boxes for what I was looking for and is such a great fit. I loved the faux leather sleeves, draw-string to add extra shape and khaki for a more casual feel – this cost me R699.95. Lastly, I couldn’t resist this comfy knit from Kelso (also an in-house brand). It looked so good paired with the jacket and is such a nice, loose fit which I really liked – this was R299.95.

I am the complete opposite – absolutely LOATHE winter fashion. All that layering makes me feel frumpy! That being said, I love your picks – I've been looking for the perfect coat, and I love this one – great price, too! x
