Review: 5 Rooms at The Alphen Hotel, Constantia
Last weekend I had a weekend of indulgence so writing this blog post while I am on a 7 Day Juice Detox is quite honestly torture!
My boyfriend and I were invited to dinner at 5 Rooms restaurant at The Alphen Hotel – I had actually never been here at all before so was very excited to see what all the buzz was about. The hotel had been refurbished towards the end of 2011 and I had only heard good things.
I do wish I had made an effort to get there before sunset but after a long Friday at work it unfortunately was not possible. The hotel is really beautiful; think old cape wine lands style, large open areas, beautifully kept gardens and huge, old oak trees. We opted for a drink at The Rose Bar beforehand as I wanted to see this area too. It was much vibier than I expected with a very trendy feel, I assumed there would be a much more ‘old-school’ feel here.

The service was outstanding – so slick and professional and we truly we treated so well! The food was also great, I especially enjoyed my main (Kudu and Springbok) and my dessert (Peanut Butter Fondant). I have included images of everything we had below! Excuse the quality of the images, I’m no photographer and the lighting was very dim.

I most certainly will be back. I can also imagine that the deli serves great lunches so want to try that out next time!
