REN Clarifying Toner

I am a toner fanatic. I don’t know why, but from a young age I have never been without a toner. I think it may be the fact that I don’t ever feel squeaky clean until I have done my usual cleanse and finished off with toner on a cotton pad. I am a big fan of my hydrating/spritzer toners that I use over my make-up and to refresh dull/dry skin – great for travelling and hot/humid weather when all your skin needs is a refreshing spritz.

REN (one of my favourite skin/body care brands)   have recently launched their clarifying toner which is for combination/oily skin and acts in a similar way to the Clinique toning lotions in the fact that it provides an exfoliation to the skin too. This, however, is way better on my skin than the toning lotion’s from Clinique. REN’s Clarifying toner is alcohol free and is free of all the ingredients that are harmful to our precious skins, so doesn’t leave your skin feeling parched and stripped.

The toner has a strong mint flavour to it which I really like as it immediately makes my skin feel refreshed. The lavender also helps with any redness and really makes the skin feel well-balanced and calm. I (obviously) love the fact that the toner gently exfoliates, as you all know how I love a good scrub on my skin. The main benefits of the toner is that it minimises enlarged pores and helps with breakouts. I have used the toner for 3 weeks now and my skin feels refreshed, toned, calm, congestion free and super-clean. I am a big fan. The price is pretty high at R380 for 100ml, however, the packaging feels really luxe and a little goes a long way so the price tag can definitely be justified.

Tori, I think I'm going to try this one out. I usually skip on toner (in the last 2 years or so) because most toners i've tried irritate and burn my skin (especially Clinique). The one onces that works for me is Estee Lauder, the pink one and Body Shop vit e toner. But I don't see any skin benefits 🙁 Thanks for the suggestion 🙂

Sure, give it a go. It doesn't burn my skin at all and really clears it up of black heads etc. I love it plus obviously has all the natural benefits that REN offers 🙂
