My best of summer
I’m sure you will all agree that the feeling of summer has arrived and, although it always seems to catch me rather unprepared, I am very excited for the longer days, beachy weather and general good spirits! Below are a few goodies that are going to be glued to my side this season:
Nivea sun products
I got sent this summery kit the other day by Nivea which was such a treat as this sun care range is what I use by choice anyway. A firm favourite is the invisable sun cream mist that goes on so easily and stays put, leaving no sticky white sheen. Nothing says summer like the smell of sun cream! Nivea’s range of protection is also really great and has something for everyone from firming to ageing.
Two Oceans Quay 5 Wine
I love lite and low-alcohol wines for long, summery days. Believe me when I say a full-on wine is not a good idea to drink in the sun. These are brand new from Two Oceans (a red, rose and white) and have just 5.5% alcohol in them plus taste really delish and are dangerously easy drinking – the perfect companion to any summer braai! A win is that the calorie intake is around half that of a regular wine! Two Oceans Quay 5 have partnered with Yardley Supershine lipgloss as this has recently been re-packaged and looks really chic and pretty. I received a pretty pink which has come in handy and tastes like cherries!

Mamma Mio
I have spoken about my love for this brand before (see here) and I just adore these travel size get-summer-ready samples I was sent. These are going straight into my holiday toiletry bag! I have actually tried two of these products before (the cooling Lucky Legs and the O Mega Body Buff) which are unbelievably awesome. Little miracles in a bottle I tell you! I specifically love the O Mega Body Buff for the removal of old self tan (which we all hate). I love following their Facebook page here – they have some cool tips and competitions!
Excuse the average pic – I was in such a hurry to pack these in my suitcase 🙂 |
Sir Juice
I absolutely love these juices – they are perfect for making summery cocktails and are the real deal when it comes to delicious fruit juices. Their flavour selection is also great! I recently had a dinner party where I served cocktails using these juices – virgin or alcoholic were great! I have to say that the lemonade flavour is my best and I think their branding (which is all new) is really cute and quirky. See more info here (love their site). Looking for some fun cocktail recipes? See my favourite mojito one here (where used my Lemonade juice and just left out the water and sugar – really refreshing!) The Sir Juice Facebook page is such fun to follow, you can do so here.
My next project is to try these awesome ice lollies they made at the Good Food and Wine show – perfect summer treat!
MMMM, ice lollies! Glad to hear summer is also making its appearance in CT. Right now, Joburg is all gloomy, but its fine, its raining!
