Birds of a Feather
I think this is such an amazing idea and can look incredible on the right person. A friend of mine, Emily, got her feather extensions put in while living in London a while back and fell in love with them. On returning to SA she explored her options here and came across the local company, Birds of a Feather, which was founded by Kyla Dawn. The company has since become a big hit here and I can see exactly why!
The extensions start at R50 (seriously affordable) and last ages. They are also really durable, allowing you to straighten, tug, curl and blow dry them; literally treat them as you do your own hair. They come in a variety of shades and colours – from natural and subtle to bold and quirky. The best part about the pieces is that it is nothing permanent so a great way to spice up a boring hair-style for the summer! These were HUGE where I lived overseas last year! I love them but I couldn't wear them back then because they weren't appropriate to wear at the office where I worked … but since their trending here in South Africa now … maybe I can finally give them a try!!:)
