Davines Shampoo, Conditioner and Oi Oil

I adore this stuff and have been so keen to get my hands on some for ages. How amazing is the packaging!? Initially a few of my readers had said they loved it but that the glass packaging was inconvenient – luckily this has changed and all the packaging is now plastic. Below is my breakdown on each product:

Davines Alchemic Shampoo in Chocolate (250ml – R195)

“Colour shampoo suggested to enhance natural or cosmetic dark brown to black hair.”

This took me a while to warm up to as it doesn’t foam up on the hair on first application which I didn’t really like, but after my double shampoo I got used to it and loved it so much. This has direct pigments in it that colour the hair without the activator use, thus enhancing your natural hair colour. It also conditions the hair really well and certainly gives the hair that feeling of leaving no build up behind. My hair feels really clean after using this and the colour looks rich too. My only negative here is that the bottle is quite tricky to dispense from, it would work better in a squeezy bottle.

Davines Alchemic Conditioner in Chocolate (250ml – R272)

This is definitely my favourite. It honestly feels like you are putting chocolate mousse on your hair and it conditions incredibly – leaving your hair feeling like silk almost immediately. This has the same colour pigments as the shampoo so also enhances your colour. I also loved the smell of this. It is pricey but you really don’t need much (and I have very long hair). I would repurchase this again and again – a really luxurious product.

Oi Oil – Absolute Beautifying Potion (135ml – R430)

I have tried plenty of hair oils and still seem to get excited about them, they make all the difference to long hair by smoothing down dreaded fly-aways and giving it extra shine. This one was no different and also made my hair feel incredibly silky and knot-free. I actually noticed the difference in tangles before I read that it has strong detangling and restructuring action – bonus! It contains breathable silicons and plenty of anti-oxidants. Again, a teensy bit goes a long way and this has been the oil that I have been reaching for every morning of late – smells delish too!

Hi Tori, I have seen this product around and have been tempted to give it a try. Does it actually change the colour of your hair? Have never coloured my hair, so a bit apprehensive…. x

Hi Karma, I haven't noticed a change in my hair colour as such, however, it does look richer and shinier. So if it does it is incredibly mild and more enhancing than changing. Let me know what you think if you try it 🙂 Pureology is also an absolute favourite

Hi Tori, I follow your blog regularly and always look forward to read reviews of new products. Please can you tell me where can I buy the Davines products? Also just a suggestion, although you do mention most of the times, it would be really nice to see the products price and where to buy from in all you posts.

Hi Piyusha, thanks so much for your comment. And thanks a mil for your feedbsck. When I don't privide that info it's usually because the brand prefers to not post that in the main article, however, I will make an effort to include it as know it's super helpful 🙂 You can get Davines at all Carlton salons. Prices included in post xx
