The Weekend Roll-Out
If you follow me on twitter you will know that my weekend was spent in one of my favourite spots, Kalk Bay, where there is a family house that we stay in. It really is a place where I can switch into holiday mode on arrival – on second thoughts, stress never really seems to get the better of me!
The house is as close tot the sea as you can get and just beautiful. My parents were down from Natal so it was family time over-kill and I loved it 🙂
Saturday night was spent at one of the restaurants at the Kalk Bay harbour – “Harbour House”. As close as the Brass Bell is to the water, so is Harbour House. Lights shine onto the sea making the view gorgeous! We all completely over indulged in sushi (very generous on the fish side, making it delish) for starters, for mains I opted for the seared tuna on polenta with chilli and ginger dressing. One of the best meals eveeer! Finishing off with their New York Cheesecake and mascarpone ice cream. I told you I over-indulged…
(this is my picture from yesterday @ Lazari with Kelly Blakemore, but you get the idea)
Sunday morning was spent doing walks and braving the freezing cold sea and then to my families all-time-favourite – The Olympia Café. The avo and salmon on rye was my choice and you never let down there. The buzz and vibe in that restaurant always makes me want to stay longer and leaves me looking forward to my next visit, whether I associate it with family holidays, I don’t know, but it truly is Kalk Bay’s gem.
