I hate pleather! Is it really necessary??!

I was thinking a while back that South Africa is seriously lacking in local luxurious leather goods – think Mulberry and Asprey of London (to name a few). For a country with resources at our fingertips in this regard, surely we should have this at our disposal? The only leather goods i was aware of are the one’s you find in the average Curio shop or “gift shop” – my ultimate worst.

And then i came across Quamta.

Quamta was established in 2009 and is African based – they call themselves a “small leather goods luxury brand, aimed at sophisticated and progressive individuals who appreciate and understand good quality and superior design.”

I really think their work is beautiful

Their have stockists in Germany, Taiwan and The States and their showroom in Pretoria is by appointment only. Looks like we’ll all have to save a cent or two before paying them a visit.
