Homebakes

For those of you who follow me on Twitter, you would have seen that a few weeks back I was invited for tea with the lovely Wendy from Homebakes (the site is under construction). She treated me to a Nigella classic – the courgette cake. I dont think I have ever tasted anything this delicious! I now have the recipe, so watch this space 🙂

Wendy is possibly one of the most talented artists I have met and her work really is amazing. Her company, Homebakes, is all about ceramics and each and every piece makes it onto my wish list, from her beautiful vases and (well-known) bunnies to her delicate tea-pots and detailed cake stands. I want it all, as I’m sure you will!

The good news is Wendy will be exhibiting her beautiful pieces at Design Indaba (2 – 4 March), which I cannot wait for!!! She will have all her latest collections there, some of which hasn’t been seen yet. If you can’t make the Indaba, Homebakes can be found in various trendy stores throughout Cape Town (Mr & Mrs on Kloof, Marigold in Tamboerskloof). These are a few of her cake stands, and starting in a few weeks time I will be doing ‘Cake of the month‘ posts using these beautiful stands to display it all. So… send me some amazing recipes please 🙂 I want to learn how to make cakes that look a bit like this…
